French Weir Park is a small community park, covering 2.4 hectares suitable for up to 7,900 people which is situated alongside the River Tone in Taunton.
The site is predominantly grass with some hard standing and is suitable for community events, family fun days, fairs and fetes and daytime concerts. It can also play host to travelling events such as fairs and circuses
As a neighbourhood park it provides a place for passive recreation, children’s play and acts as an attractive through route between residential areas, shops, schools and colleges.
The park is roughly triangular: the western and southern boundaries are formed by the River Tone, with the Weir itself lying at the south-western corner of the site and the eastern boundary with residential properties.
